Does a Building Height Depict Who We Are? When high buildings were first able to be, The church steeple was the most blatantly high. Then powerful families erected the tallest towers, Manifesting their political power over the masses; Followed by our modern times, When corporations competed for height and capitalistic ego. I, as a Humanist, am not advocating a return to the past, But perhaps we all should take a pause To contemplate where we are and from whence we have come. Perhaps we need more of a sensible balance In our pursuit for the meaning towards our honest existence. 23 October 2025 0110 Hours.
